HOME LIBRARY BUILDING
The home library building component of the Cleveland Schools Book Fund focuses on supporting and growing readers by providing copies of children’s literature that can be kept and read at home.
PLEASE NOTE: Not all titles in the classroom collection of the Cleveland Schools Book Fund are available in a paperback version. Teachers are encouraged to check the website for the most recent paperback availability before having students complete and submit book reports.
STEPS IN THE PROCESS
Helping your students build a love of reading and their home library is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
- Read one of our recommended high-quality classroom books with your students. The list of hardcover books that we make available for classrooms is available via this link.
- Complete a classroom activity so that each student can share their reflections on the book. Here is a link to sample graphic organizers you can use to get started.
- Submit scans of your student “book reports” to the Cleveland Schools Book Fund. This link is for the contact form where you can upload your files.
- Cleveland Schools Book Fund will deliver paperback copies of the book to your school. You can pass out a copy of the book to each child in your classroom to take home!
