Retirement Announcement

Hello friends,

I am writing to share a note of thanks and farewell.

It has been my honor and privilege to be a leader and caretaker for the Cleveland Schools Book Fund, but now it is time for me to step aside and for new folks to step up. I will be retiring at the end of June, and while it makes me a bit sad to leave the Book Fund, I know that it is in good hands.

I have truly enjoyed working with the many wonderful teachers who have participated in our programs. I enjoyed your friendship, and especially your excitement for the beautiful books. I often thought of you heading into your classrooms, smiling as you shared your new books and the wonderful stories between the pages. I also thought about your students’ smiles as they listened intently and then, perhaps, had the opportunity to create a project and finally take the book home to be shared again with friends and loved ones.

You do such fun and interesting things to engage your students, and I am grateful to have been able to support you! The Cleveland Schools Book Fund is a terrific program that will go on and on thanks to the generosity and vision of its benefactor, Stephen Morris.

Never fear, you will still be able to get your books!

Happy stories, happy reading, happy summer to you all.

Very sincerely, Sharon
